Ryan Worthen is a corporate communicator, business owner and community volunteer with nearly 30 years of experience helping businesses communicate effectively.

Ryan works with small businesses, non-profits, and mission organizations throughout the community seeking growth in the areas of marketing, business development, public relations, and strategic communications.

Ryan started That One Company in 2004 to provide custom-tailored creative approaches to help small businesses, non-profits, and mission organizations stand out. The scope of his professional experience includes strategic business planning, business development, stakeholder and public relations, copy writing, public speaking, print and web design, video and multimedia production, social media engagement, web and interface usability analysis, corporate social responsibility efforts and more.

Prior to starting That One Company, Ryan actively designed and maintained websites for small businesses dating back to 1996 (before Google existed).

Ryan is the 2025-26 Chair of the Hearing & Speech Center’s Board of Directors. He is a past Chair of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Thoroughbred Chapter, serving in both 2011 and 2021.

In addition to his current and past leadership roles, Ryan has served on several nonprofit boards, including Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Bluegrass, where he served as Community Outreach Committee Chair; Lexington Habitat for Humanity; and the YMCA of Central Kentucky.

Ryan is a former collegiate tennis player with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business management from Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky.
